Imagine a space where you'll feel like you are finally being heard and you belong.

I’m Amy Brown, a Family Nurse Practitioner and the founder of MainelyNP Primary Care, where I believe healthcare should be personal, accessible, and rooted in trust.

As a Nurse Practitioner, I bring both medical expertise and a whole-person approach to primary care. My goal isn’t just to treat illness and disease. I want to help you understand your body, make informed choices, and build sustainable habits that support lifelong health. Together, we’ll look beyond symptoms to uncover what’s really going on and create a plan that fits your life.

I was born and raised right here in Maine and grew up in a small town where neighbors cared for each other and everyone knew your name. That sense of connection is part of my practice and work in the community.  Over the past 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of practicing across the country, from the coast of Maine to the Pacific Northwest, caring for people from all walks of life.

After years in traditional healthcare, I saw firsthand how the system often gets in the way of good healthcare. Short appointments, endless paperwork, and insurance red tape made it harder to give patients the time and attention they deserve. I founded MainelyNP Primary Care to to bring care back to what it should be: longer visits, open communication, and a real relationship between you and your provider.

When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll find me outdoors hiking Maine’s mountains, exploring the coast, playing pickleball, hitting the gym, or finding the best local bites with my husband around Portland.

If you’re looking for a primary care experience that’s centered on you — where you can text your NP, ask questions freely, and feel truly heard — you’ve found the right place.

What is Direct Primary Care?

Direct primary care (DPC) is a healthcare model that involves patients paying a low monthly fee directly to their primary care provider, bypassing insurance. This arrangement provides patients with comprehensive primary care services, including routine check-ups, preventive care, and basic medical treatments, fostering a closer provider-patient relationship with longer appointment times, unlimited visits, and more personalized care. DPC aims to enhance accessibility, affordability, and quality of care by removing the traditional insurance-based payment system.
